change has come...

I like many others no doubt stayed up till nearly 5 this morning to watch history in the making!  Fair play to McCain - he had far too much baggage on his shoulders from one of the worst American administrations in History, not only for the US itself but for the whole world!  He lost gracefully and graciously, mainly through no fault of his own (though I think his (probably enforced) selection of a running mate turned out not to be the boon they thought it would be) but history was coming like a tidal wave against the Republicans... the combination of the mess that the Neo-Con project has made of the world and the changes that have been going on in American Culture, which seems now to be finally out of the hands of the Baby-Boomers, meant that change was more than likely inevitable.
So... congratulations to President Elect Obama and even more congratulations to America... especially to the young voters who rallied to prevent the country from making the mistakes it made 4 (and 8) years ago!  Let's give Obama time to build his strategy and policies to try to reset the balance.  It will not be easy for him and his administration, they will have to be very brave and radical, the country and the world are in a catastrophic mess which will not be resolved overnight!
