Ian, one of the members of safespace has written a parable of his journey... it's very personal, but it's now part of the story of our community... it's kind of his Pilgrims progress.... it's very real, from his true self but it also has a universality to it, I think it describes us all - we all build walls (you'll have to read it to understand), for some it might be a wall of books, others a wall of church activity, others even a wall of certainty - thinking we’ve got to the top – and not looking up to see there is still much more to explore/experience. etc. It's called "Encounters with a fool on the hill" but he says
I do not see it as being so much about highlighting my foolishness (though I am most certainly a fool), I see it as glorifying the Walker from Nazareth. He does not give up on people.I asked him if I could post it here and he (after some gentle persuasion - he's a truly humble chap!) gave me permission.
