It is sad to read that Robert Webber, editor of "Listening to the beliefs of the Emerging Church and author of "The Younger Evangelicals" amongst other things, has passed on after he had been living with cancer for some time...
"Younger Evangelicals point us to a new hermeneutic which is grounded in Scripture, shaped by reflection of the church throughout its history, and expressed in the concrete situation of the church in its particular place in culture... We live in post-modern culture - a culture shaped by globalization; historical nostalgia; spiritual hunger; mystery; oral, visual and interactive forms of communication; the longing for community; and the fear of terrorism. God's mission though the church, our theological reflection within the church, and our search for spiritual meaning take place within this particular kind of culture" The Younger Evangelicals - 2002
We pray for his wife, Joanne and the family, and ask God to bring them comfort and peace, may their memories be dominated by the good times and the love they shared.
