Well, here I am! I'll not trouble you with my biography, save to say that I joined Mark in this adventure a few months ago and this is my first posting on a blog! I don't seem to have the rights to add pictures (no icon for it on TypePad) so I can't let you into the secrets of my identity. However, if you have seen the Brendan pics, I'm the one with the natural tonsure!
You should be authorised properly this time jem... post away!

Mark, I've just been sent your way from Mark Irelands blog-good idea this-hows it done?
You were talking at the last Evangelism&Outreach meeting about doing ignatian exercises with teenagers who werent yet believers. I've done the retreat in daily life and the 8 day guided retreat up at Loyola so I know the terrain a bit. I'm going back to Art college in September and would like to introduce something of the same ilk to my Arty pals...what did you do exactly?
p.s in case you don't remember I'm the bald guy you chatted with about having Derrida in a house group!!

Mike,
A lot of wwhat I have done in the wholde meditation area has been akin to Anthony de Mello's stuff... very basic visualisation, I find simple centering and/or silent meditation is a bit of a leap for them. We simply advertise it as a place for spiritual seeking. I spent a couple of weekse getting to know them and in passing mentioned meditation... they leapt at the idea. We have also done some workshops on dream intrepretation and spent quite alot of time simply sitting and sharing stories of 'spiritual experiences'. Although I may use/adapt Essence with them at the mo it is a bit structured. I reccommend De Mello's book Sadhanna.
