I'm working with some young leaders who would be blessed by your creativity, heart, and experience.
Mark commented on 'The broken body that melts hearts (our community liturgy for tonight)'tag:typepad.com,2003:6a00d8341c789553ef00d834f1250c53ef2007-04-30T07:45:58Z2007-08-22T21:31:54ZMarkhttp://markjberry.blogs.com/way_out_west/Greg, use a plastic container (Jelly mould or plastic storage pot, that kind of thing)... then put a plastic cup/beaker...
Greg, use a plastic container (Jelly mould or plastic storage pot, that kind of thing)... then put a plastic cup/beaker in the middle filled with something to weigh it down (rice, water or something)then fill up the container with water... so you are creating a "tube" of ice with a central space for the candle. I found that you need to give it at least a couple of days to freeze in a domestic freezer. Apparently it helps to accelerate the freezing if you pack around the main pot/mould with ice cubes. I used red food colouring mixed in the water too.
Greg the Explorer commented on 'The broken body that melts hearts (our community liturgy for tonight)'tag:typepad.com,2003:6a00d8341c789553ef00d834ea317953ef2007-04-30T02:54:51Z2007-08-22T21:25:13ZGreg the ExplorerHey MArk, when creating the frozen cylinder do you need to create a hole in the middle for the candle...

Hey MArk, when creating the frozen cylinder do you need to create a hole in the middle for the candle or just let it melt in from on top naturally?

I love this liturgy and will be using it this Sunday with our community - thanks for posting it and making it freely available to all.
Mark commented on 'The broken body that melts hearts (our community liturgy for tonight)'tag:typepad.com,2003:6a00d8341c789553ef00d834cd055269e22007-04-27T18:57:59Z2007-08-22T18:16:44ZMarkhttp://markjberry.blogs.com/way_out_west/Brandon, I am such a beginner at writing this kind of stuff, TBH I just sit down and "splurge" it......
Brandon, I am such a beginner at writing this kind of stuff, TBH I just sit down and "splurge" it... so thanks you so much for the encouragement! This kind of liturgy was nowhere to be found in my own American evangelical upbringing. You do a phenomenal job of bringing poetic creativity into Christian spirituality.
Mark commented on 'The broken body that melts hearts (our community liturgy for tonight)'tag:typepad.com,2003:6a00d8341c789553ef00d83495366453ef2007-04-26T22:31:14Z2007-08-22T21:01:36ZMarkhttp://markjberry.blogs.com/way_out_west/Many thanks for the encouragement guys
Many thanks for the encouragement guys
sally commented on 'The broken body that melts hearts (our community liturgy for tonight)'tag:typepad.com,2003:6a00d8341c789553ef00d834ca0b0e69e22007-04-26T19:36:20Z2007-08-22T20:59:56Zsallyhttp://www.sallysjourney.typepad.comyup- I can't better that- this is awesome. :-)
yup- I can't better that- this is awesome. :-)
Matthew Gregg commented on 'The broken body that melts hearts (our community liturgy for tonight)'tag:typepad.com,2003:6a00d8341c789553ef00d834c9b60d69e22007-04-26T19:14:50Z2007-08-22T20:59:46ZMatthew Gregghttp://m4tth3wg.spaces.live.comOh WOW!
